Turner and his dad, Jay, got in the "shelter stand" around 4:15. Around 5:00, the buck came from the creek out into a clearcut. He walked about 50 yards and started to turn away. Jay grunted a couple of times. The buck turned toward them. He walked into a shooting lane where Turner took "the shot."
