Hunt Story

Two weeks ago, Turner and I were hunting this same food plot when an 8-pointer slipped in to feed. We watched him for 20 minutes, and for some reason, although he was only 60 yards away, the buck would not present a broadside shot for Turner. The safety clicked off and on at least a half dozen times before it got too dark to hunt. On Saturday afternoon, the same buck came in to feed in the same food plot, about the same time, at the same 60 yards away. This time, Turner wasted no time. As soon as the 8-pointer gave the right angle, Turner counted down and let the .243 roar. It was such an exciting moment for Turner and me! He was the 3rd and last son to kill a first deer. It has been so much fun experiencing these hunts with the boys and one of my greatest memories with each of them.
