Hunt Story
I had put out Hot to Trot scent by Rack-Hyphen scent and lures. At 5:20 he came running by with another deer I could not see, so I grunted four times with my mouth and he circled into the edge of a small food plot in planted pines and stopped at 25 yards. I took the shot quartering to me and hit him right behind the shoulder. I waited 30 minutes and started trailing a good blood trail and jumped him at approximately 100 yards. I continued to trail him and jumped him again in approximately 400 yards. I called my dad and he told me to back out and he called Mike Lopez and his tracking dog Lucy. My dad, girlfriend, and Dad arrived at 7:45 and Lucy found the deer dead approximately 50 minutes later. the deer traveled 1.83 miles according to Mike Lopez. I killed him with a bow and hope he is my first Pope and Young buck.
