Hunt Story
This buck and 2-year-old came to my feeder on a creek bottom at 6:55 p.m. The wind had just died down from 15 mph to 5 mph with a slight drizzle beginning. I ranged the buck at 23 yards and then released my arrow for a double lung pass-through. He immediately jumped and bound up the hill about 20 yards looking confused. After 1 minute he twitched his tail several times and tumbled over making for an easy recovery. I've had this deer on trail camera for the past several weeks but the wind has not been right making for some restless evenings on the couch. The buck had 17-inch spread and appears to be 5.5 years old.
