Hunt Story
Was fortunate to help “Ole Knobby “ blow his last birthday candles out on Sunday evening right here in Georgia on our own place. He is a deer we know well , he is a 6.5-year-old that broke his front left leg three seasons ago, and I always wondered if he would make it . We call him knobby because his left front knee is huge. Late season we tried several times to get Nick on him to shoot him, but he no showed the times we hunted him. Well this spring I found his right-side shed and over an inch-and-a-half plug of his skull came out when he dropped, and it stunk of infection. Yawl may remembered I posted about the shed in the spring. Well I kept cameras running through spring to see if he would make it was a bad wound and thought it might kill him. But he made it through, and as we figured, it effected his antler on that side. But dang these critters are tough. So with all the history of this old warrior and right here on our own farm is what makes the pride factor so high and made him this year the No. 1 buck we wanted to take . His huge body lets me know he enjoyed all the groceries we provide all year. He has 6 points on each side for 12 total.
