Hunt Story

I was sitting in my stand and he came out with a baby and a mommy doe. I watched him for about 25 minutes and I waited for the perfect shot. Finally he turned broadside and I squeezed the trigger and I thought I missed him. Then I waited about 20 minutes and told my mom to come help me look for him. It took us about 45 minutes. It was raining so it was hard to track blood, and it was the first time we have tracked by ourselves. We crossed over two little branches of water and fell a few times, but when we crossed over the second branch I saw him on top of the hill. My mom didn’t believe me, then she finally saw him and we took off running... fell a few more times but we made it. Then we stood about 15 feet because we were in shock and were trying to figure out what to do if he was alive. Finally we went him to him and he was completely dead and we took some pictures and we started to drag him out, but we couldn’t make it back up the second branch of water because of the hill. So we waited for help. He weighed 200 and was a 10-point. It was a great experience for it being my first buck!
