Hunt Story
The property I was hunting was clearcut/select cut three years ago, and the area I was hunting is very thick with only select areas to get a shot. I was watching the edge of this clearcut and saw a deer moving along the edge. However, I could not tell what the deer was, buck or doe. As I was trying to zero in on this deer, I caught movement out of the corner of my eye and noticed it was another deer fixing to come out into the clearcut. I turned my focus to this deer and heard him grunt several times. When the deer stepped into the clearcut, I knew he was big enough to shoot; however, the buck never stopped walking and continued to grunt as he walked. I pick one opening to shoot, and when he stepped into the opening, I shot. The buck ran about 15 yards and dropped.
