I was hunting with my son Thursday afternoon. It had been pretty quiet over the first hour or so except for a doe and her yearling. We heard deer to our left and two does came trotting up the ridge past us and then stopped. A minute or so later I heard another deer coming behind them a little further down the ridge from the trail they had gone. It continued walking and I finally could tell it was a good buck. The buck walked up the ridge toward the does and stopped behind a big oak for about a minute. He finally stepped out and I had about a two-foot opening to shoot through. I squeezed the trigger and he dropped right there. I was very glad my son was there to share it with me. Thank you Lord for this blessing!
