Hunt Story
It started off as a chilly morning with frost covering the ground and frost on the ceiling on my box stand. The morning started out with seeing a bobcat at 1st light on the prowl down the edge of my food plot. I saw a small 6 at my feeder just after 7:30 and had a doe come in on my right and walk the distance of my powerline to get to my food plot. They both fed and the small 6 eventually saw the doe and chased her off. About 8:30, I had a small inside the rack 10 come to my left crossing my powerline just cruising. I had to grunt at him to get him to stop and turn. I passed. At about 9:00 am I caught slight movement to my right. As soon as I put my scope up, I knew it was a shooter. He walked to the edge of my powerline, stopped and was just looking back and forth to see what was out there. He was not sticking around long. He started to turn to walk back into the planted pines when I grunted at him and he stopped and looked back down the powerline. When he did, I squeezed the trigger and he dropped.
