Hunt Story

My dad got home from work late, and there was only an hour of light left. He saw three deer feeding behind the barn, so we knew the deer were moving. He asked my brother and me if we wanted to go hunting. We said yes. So my dad took my brother and me out to the stand. He has been coughing bad, so he went back up to the house. We were playing a game in the stand. We were only in the stand for about 20 minutes, and I looked over my shoulder and saw a buck about 20 yards away from me looking for a doe. I got the gun up and on him, and I had to grunt at him to stop him. When he stopped, I put the crosshairs right behind the shoulder and squeezed the trigger. When I shot, my brother and I watched him run off about 50 yards before falling down. My dad heard the shot, so he came out to get us a couple of minutes later so we could get down and look for the deer. My brother and I showed him where we thought he fell down, and we looked a couple of minutes before finding him.
