Hunt Story
I got checked in on the hunt about 11:30 am on Thursday December 17th. By the time I drove back to where I left the jeep, it was about noon. The rain had let up and wind was calm. I arrived at my stand location on foot about one hour later (1 pm). At 2 pm I saw the buck coming out of the thick mountain cover and immediately new he was a good deer. I was hunting on the ground in some thick cover, and the buck was standing at the edge of a food plot about 30 yards. I knew my movement would have to be slow and deliberate. The buck's head, neck and small part of chest was all that was in clear view. Crosshairs settled on his neck, and I pulled the trigger, without so much as a kick he fell dead.
