Hunt Story
Got permission from a great landowner a few weeks prior so had him on camera from late summer. A week before the season while hanging the stand he came in to feed and I was stuck watching him for 45 minutes trying not to give away my position til he left. Opening weekend, I couldn't hunt until Sunday evening. I poured out some Roasted Raxx when getting into the stand and the breeze was blowing up the creek bottom toward a bedding area. Shortly after, several does eased in and another buck followed by this old fella. They were very wary and he didn't present me with a shot I was comfortable with for about 10 minutes. He started to leave and walking slowly from my right to left at 20 yards broadside I drew and let it fly. The shot was true and he trotted down the hill and piled up in the creek. Great hunt celebrated with some great friends and my daughter.
