Hunt Story

I was a hunting a one-acre opening along Hog Crawl Creek that includes a food plot and a swamp chestnut oak grove. We have tons of pics and videos of this buck that we call "Blades." We believe the buck to 4.5 years old. He features long tines... G2s are +10 and 11 inches and green scores +132 inches. I had been waiting 1.5 weeks for the right wind to hunt this location. It was an active evening in a number of ways. I was battling mosquitoes, listening to the Georgia game on my headphones, and had already seen a doe and nice 8-pointer feeding under the oaks. Not long after, I looked under the grove and saw Blades. I found a pie-shaped hole opening when he turned broadside and made an 80-yard shot. I had the opportunity to share the recovery with my older son and friends. It was a special evening!
