Hunt Story
I first got this buck on trail cam on June 15, 2020. I had him on camera from August, September, October, & November. My stand is a 15-foot tower stand that I’ve hunted for 25 years. I got in the stand at 4:15. At 5:15 I saw the first doe. At 5:30, there were 7 does in my 2-acre food plot. At 5:40, 3 more does trotted into the plot from a pine thicket north of me (upwind). I saw his rack moving through the trees. He stepped into a clearing. I put the crosshairs of my REM 700, .270 just behind his shoulder and squeezed the trigger. He dropped straight down and didn’t move. He never knew what hit him. I had passed up three nice 8-pointers this fall waiting on the Big Boy. He finally showed up.
