Hunt Story

On the morning of November 11th, 2017 I shot my first buck. It was a cold morning and I hesitated to even go to the blind, but I went anyways. My dad and I had just sat down and we heard some turkeys calling. My dad got his turkey call and was calling them. Less than a second later we saw this deer walk up to the left of our blind. My dad had asked me "Do you want to shoot him?". And I said "Yeah!" I was thinking he was a spike and I thought to myself a spike is better than no deer at all. The deer turned around and ran but he ran right in front of me. I aimed the rifle and tried my best to aim behind the front leg. I think all hunters experience a nice feeling of excitement and nervousness before shooting something, but not me. I didn't even think I just did. Once I had shot him he dropped to the ground without even running. I was so happy, I almost cried. We dragged him out and gutted him. We came to find out that I shot his heart in two. So, that's my story of when I shot my first deer.
