Hunt Story

We bought this property a couple of years ago, and had not shot a deer on it until my husband (Clae) shot a doe on it earlier this year. We weren't getting any pictures of deer all through November because of two hogs that kept coming in to eat in our food plot. My grandfather and one of his friends came one day while we were at work and shot both hogs at the same time. The next night this buck showed up for the first time. We had pictures of him a couple of years ago when we first bought the place. I haven't killed a buck since 2013, and I haven't hunted near as much the last couple of years as I used to. When I saw the pictures of this buck, I told my husband that if he showed up in daylight, I would love to shoot him. We tried hunting him once early December, but we didn't see him. The evening of December 20, he showed up in daylight for the first time, but we weren't able to hunt that evening. The next day we planned to hunt that afternoon. It was rainy and windy all day long. It was supposed to stop around 4, but it didn't really ever stop. It got lighter around 5. Clae said that he thought we would see him between 5:45 and 5:50 based on the trail camera pictures the previous few days. he walked out at 5:46 and worked his way into our food plot. He gave me a shot after a minute or two, and I dropped him right there. My biggest buck yet, and the whole thing is on video and will be on my husband's YouTube channel!
