Hunt Story
Talking and I had just settled into the redneck blind when he said "Dad, Dad, Dad" and I looked up to see a doe passing across an old logging road in a steady pace. I told him to get his gun up and be ready because a buck may be following her. One minute later his big 8-pointer steps out broadside and I said "Talon it's a buck shoot". At that time the buck starts to walk again as he was not gonna let that doe get away. I whistled at him to stop, and he did, and Talon got his crosshairs on him and gently squeezed the trigger. I knew instantly that he hit him solid right behind the shoulder as he was taught to. The big ole 8-pointer with a 16.5-inch inside spread and 9-inch G-2s, 6-inch G-3s, and 4-inch brow tines only ran 40 yards and was down for the count. We had an easy tracking job and within 10 minutes of the shot, Talon had killed his first ever buck and second deer ever within 2 weeks of each other. I am so proud of him as he was able to keep his composure at make an awesome shot on a giant North Georgia Buck!
