Hunt Story
I have seen this deer on my trail cam on a couple occasions. One was a daytime picture last week, so I told my stepdad Thursday that I was going to kill this deer opening weekend. I also told my stepdad to keep this a secret from my two younger sisters because they would want to beat me to this buck. Sure enough on opening day around 6:40 pm he came out to my left about 80 yards away heading to the soybean field where I had put the 4S Draw approximately 30 yards away from my stand. He caught me raising my gun, so I had to freeze for what seemed like eternity, and when he put his head down, I nailed him with a single shot. He fell immediately but then stood up and stumbled about 15-20 yards where he fell again. I was so excited when I saw how big he was on the ground. He looked big on the trail cam pictures, but he looked huge laying there in front of me. I called my stepdad, and I could hardly speak because I was so excited. He was amazed that I actually called the shot on Thursday and made it happen on Saturday opening day of deer season.
