Hunt Story
Saw this buck and another big eight on camera all summer. I got up in the stand about 5:30 p.m. and saw the first deer around 6:15 p.m. I had three bucks under before my buck showed. One was about a 120- to 125-inch buck and the other where 110-inch bucks. After they ate for a minute, they all looked over to the left, and I saw horns in the tall sorghum I planted. I noticed it was the “Big 8.” He slowly came in, and after I watched him at 10 yards for about 5 minutes, I decided “heck I’ll shoot him,” The rest is history. Perfect double lung hit with the Rage. Ran about 50 yards and died within sight. Good to break the ice. Should be my 10th Pope and Young from Georgia.
