Hunt Story
I got in my climbing stand earlier than usual about 1:30 p.m. to let everything settle down. That may have helped, don't know for sure but about 2:30 this buck came through. The under growth in these select-cut pines is getting pretty thick, so I just saw movement at first. I raised my binoculars and saw a bunch of points on one side! The buck was cruising through sideways across my line of sight so I knew I had to hurry! I picked up my rifle and found the buck in my scope. The shot would be about 75 yards, and following the buck I found an opening and squeezed the trigger! Surprisingly he stumbled but didn't go down, he toted that 7 mag hit about 30 to 40 yards before piling up out of my sight!
