Hunt Story
Was set up in oak stand bordering a beaver pond on a my lease in South Fulton. We had targeted this buck as a management buck that needed harvesting, 5 1/2 or older deer. The deer was bedded on an island in the beaver pond, and when I first saw him he was walking in chest-high water. He came out of the swamp and up the hill to my stand location, where after a 10-minute, 10-yard stare down. I had no shot because he was facing me head on. He finally turned and walked away and gave me a broadside shot at 38 yards.
