Hunt Story
It was a cloudy overcast day. I started my hunt that day getting to my stand before daylight. I hunted until after 10:00 AM, with no sign of the buck that had been showing up on our camera. Although my husband and I were enjoying watching the Georgia Bulldogs that day, we decided to tape the remainder of the football game, and head back to the woods. I went back to the same stand that evening where I had hunted that morning. I got into the stand around 4:30. I saw numerous does, and a small 7-point. It was beginning to get darker, and just when I was about to give up hope of seeing the big buck, I looked up, and there he was about 40 yards in front of my stand. I was hoping the does beneath my stand would not blow, and alert the buck that I was there. I took the shot, and immediately my husband who was hunting close by texted me to see if it was my shot he heard. I was excited to tell him "Yes!" We were both excited when we recovered my deer about 10 yards from where I had shot him. He was a heavy wide rack 8-point. I will always cherish the memories of that hunt, and can't wait to add this beautiful buck to my trophy room.
