We have been growing this buck for over five years. He had only been showing up on our trail cameras during the night. The last daytime picture we had of him was Oct. 21. It was about three days prior to the kill that he showed up during the morning and evening hours. I then decided to take a day off work, because I knew that time was of the essence. I got into the stand before daylight, and hunted until after 11:00 a.m. with no sign of the buck. I went back in that same afternoon around 3:30, and about 5:25 I looked and there he was standing about 15 yards in front of my stand. It could not have been a more perfect opportunity to take him. It was bitter sweet, and a day that I will never forget. I can not wait to pick out the perfect mount for him.
