Hunt Story
The wind was perfect for my favorite ladder stand I call "Animal Kingdom." I got settled in about 6 o'clock that morning. The other members were seeing deer early. I saw nothing until 9:30 and then suddenly deer were behind running and chasing. Finally I saw them and it was a small buck chasing does. The does wound up feeding in front of me and the small buck crossed behind me and went up the hill. Suddenly a big buck appeared and chase him away. Five minutes later they both came back through. The large buck stopped and started feeding. He was working his way back from where he came and I got him in my scope and when he got to an opening and stopped , I took the shot. He mule kicked and took off. I watch him bound off for about 200 yards. My husband came up about 30 minutes later to help me find him. I stayed in my stand so I could direct him to where the buck was standing and soon after we found a blood trail. It was a little sparse blood trail, but we stayed on it and finally got bigger and easy to follow, He was actually piled up in the middle of a food plot. What a relief it was to find him. My personal best to date and I could not be happier.
