Hunt Story
This hunt was one for the books for me! This was the first hunt that I killed a deer and my dad was not in the stand with me or in the tree next to me. It was a bittersweet moment that nobody prepares you for even at almost 30 years old. I killed this buck with a gun he bought me for Christmas a few years back. I am a daddy’s girl through and through, and he taught me everything I know about hunting and fishing. This buck has shown up on most everyone’s camera at our hunting lease and it was high on the shoot list! Now that I have two little boys I don’t get to go hunting near as much as I used to, and they aren’t quite old enough to go yet at 1 and 3 years old. I just happened to be able to go this particular evening and had the luck of this buck stepping out for me! 60-yard shot, and about 60-yard or less recovery. Needless to say it was an awesome hunt and I know I made my daddy proud!
