On 11/10/2024 I decided to go blind in a hardwood bottom with my climber. I walked in just after daybreak. While walking in I walked up on a decent 8 point buck. I looked at him through the scope and decided to pass. I then walked to an area of the bottom where I had a good view. I found a straight hardwood and attached my climber. I then climbed up to about 20 foot and decided I was high enough. I was strapping my backrest to the tree and caught movement to my right. I then observed tines coming through the trees and saw that it was a mature buck! I then looked at his rack through my scope and saw he had 5 points on the right side and 1 extremely long point on the left beam. I decided to take the buck. I squeezed the trigger on my 7mm PRC and the buck flinched. He then walked about 40 yards while pouring blood. I then watched him expire. I couldn’t believe it. I had killed a good buck before I had sat down in my stand. After a couple of minutes I climbed on down to take a look at him. He was a big bodied 9 pointer with an extremely long point coming off the base of his main beam! He’s one of the most unique deer I’ve ever killed. I’m super blessed to be able to chase the animals and thank the good lord for the opportunities I’m given!
