Hunt Story
My hunting time has been limited this season as I started college in the fall. Was finally able to spend some time in the woods at the end of the season. I came home Friday afternoon, and me and my grandfather went out to give them one last try. My dad had been getting pics of this buck for the past 2 weeks. We had several pics of him the first part of the season as well. Around 5:40 p.m., 3 doe came out to my right in an old road leading to a small food plot. They were spooky and sure enough off in the woods I could see him moving parallel to them. I kept him interested with my Woodhaven Grunt call. When he finally stepped out, I had to make a quick shot at approximately 70 yards. He fell 20 yards later. What was so cool about the evening was not only that my granddad was with me, but i was in the same stand that he shot his Truck-Buck Entry from opening weekend (week 7). He got his on the 1st day of the season and I got mine on our last day.
