Hunt Story
Living in Macon, Sarah Grace and I traveled to Evans County on Tuesday night to get an early hunt in before the the remainder of our family arrived the following day. We arrived late that night and we were eager to hunt. Sarah Grace killed her first and only deer two seasons ago, and it was a 3-point. Her goal was to kill a "big buck" and on the family farm. We arrived at the stand early Wednesday morning and decided on the stand due to a slight wind that would be favorable. It didn't take long as the buck arrived right at 6:45. When he looked up, I told her to take him, and she made a perfect shot at 50 yards. It was a great hunt and a perfect start to our Thanksgiving. She killed her buck with the same .243 that her mother and two older sisters killed their first deer.
