Hunt Story
I harvested this deer on the evening of Sunday 11/26/17. I've got many trail-cam pics of this buck over a three-year period. I was hunting a draw leading into a creek bottom with a mix of hardwoods and pines on the hill sides surrounding. It was not a very active afternoon for hunting other than a lot of squirrel activity. With just a few minutes of shooting light remaining, I heard a deer walking down the hill in front of me. The deer closed to about 30 yards from me, when I could see it was definitely a shooter. I raised the rifle and zeroed in for the shot. I squeezed off the shot, and the deer fell there and expired. Not knowing until I actually approach the deer that it was the deer my girls had nicknamed BIG 8 a few years earlier. Very blessed to take a buck like this.
