Hunt Story
This summer, after setting up cameras in a new spot, I saw the deer I knew I wanted to harvest - a beautiful, main frame 8-point buck. After hunting a few times with no luck, I climbed in the stand on Thursday evening while my dad watched me climb in from a short distance. To my left, I noticed a large buck watching him - the 8-pointer I had been targeting since the summer. It stood at a distance watching my dad to leave before immediately coming in to my area presenting me with a shot. After less than five minutes in the stand, I smoked the buck, which ran only 30 yards before falling within sight. I then texted dad to come back from the spot he was going to hunt to help out and celebrate.
