Hunt Story

We were hunting a double ladder stand situated in an old unplanted food plot that has not been planted due to the lack of rain. There is an automatic feeder in the food plot and we have been regularly getting pictures of bucks late in the day. At dusk four bucks came out to our right in the food plot and milled around for for a few minutes. We waited for the second one to come into the feed about 25 yards away. We felt was the biggest of the bachelor group. Samantha had a good rest on a broadside shot and squeezed the shot off. The deer jumped up and nearly did a flip. He ran into the woods in front of us and stopped after about 10 seconds we heard him crash and knew it was a fatal shot. After celebrating and catching our breath we found him after about a 20-yard track into the brush. We had Samantha home and in bed at her regular bed time as I took him to the processor up the road in Winder. Obviously wearing her lucky "GON Blast" hat did the trick.
