I used my climber to hunt an area that our club does not have a permanent stand. I was in the stand about an hour and a 6-point came from my left walking with the wind. He walked within 10 yards of me downwind and never varied his direction. He was on a mission. I continued to look to my left thinking a buck would not come for the downwind side. I heard what I thought was a squirrel to my right. I did not look and heard the noise the second time. In front of me a 8 yards was this monster looking up the draw. I pick up my gun from my lap and he never looked in my direction. He continued to stare up the draw. I shot him at 8 yards and he ran about 50 yards up the draw and piled up. Totally unexpected for a buck of that quality to come within 8 yards of me downwind.
