Hunt Story
I had just a couple of pictures of this deer in velvet over the summer, but none once the season came in. I had a perfect NW wind the morning of November 3rd. I had a few deer running back behind me right at first light. Around 8 a.m., this buck was walking down the property fence line. If he stayed on that path, I would not have had an ethical shot with my bow at 70-80 yards. I hit my grunt call a few times until I got his attention around 90 yards away prior to getting to me, then snort-wheezed. He came in on a string and gave me a 30-yard shot.
