I have been watching this deer for the last three years. He added a lot of mass and width this year. I hadn’t seen this buck on camera in a couple of weeks where he normally shows up. Decided to hunt a clearcut where we had seen some younger bucks chasing in the week. Thirty minutes after daylight he came in following a doe about 100 yards off. He gave me a perfectly good shoulder shot. He ran about 30 yards and stopped. I followed it up with a second shot and he dropped within 10 yards.
