Hunt Story
After bush hogging a new food plot in a clearcut that was replanted in pines 5 years ago and allowed to grow up, we planted a food plot and set a new two-man ladder stand. We didn't allow anyone to hunt it because we had not had any daylight pictures of bucks on the trail cam. After speaking to another hunter that hunts in the same general area, he said that he had bucks chasing does Saturday morning, and they were running in the thicket that I have the new food plot in. After hearing this I decided to place my 12-year-old grandson in the stand with me and allow him to be the one to shoot that morning. Around 6:30 a.m. this buck came in alone into the food plot and 15 minutes later my grandson was able to make a good double-lung shot on it with my crossbow.
