Hunt Story
Got to stand by 5 pm. At about 5:25 two 4-pointers came by with their noses to the ground 5 minutes later the 10-pointer step out and stopped. I scoped him to make sure he wasn't the 9 point. I have been getting pictures of since July that will score in the low 130s. I had decided not to shoot him this year hoping he would survive another year. After realizing this deer was a 10 we have never got on camera, and he was at least 4 1/2 years old, I shot him at 20 yards. This was the first weekend I took my gun in woods. I had been bow hunting all season, just my luck he would have easily make the pope young 125. The deer should score in the low 140s. Our club rules are any buck taken has to be at least 3 1/2 years old before he can taken, this has worked well. With eight members over the pass 6 years we've taken 13 bucks that have been aged at 3 1/2 and older, a couple have aged at 5 1/2 which is great for Georgia. Myself I have taken three Georgia deer that have scored in the low 140s with two of them from this property.
