I was sitting with a 1 year-old clearcut at my back looking at a beaver pond with white oaks on the rim. At 5:30 pm a twig snapped behind me and I saw a good 8 point coming to the white oaks. I shot him at 22 yards and went over his back. He ran to 32 yards and I double-lunged him and he ran 20 yards and fell.
