Hunt Story
I started getting cell camera pictures of the deer in November, my dad and I named him Hoss. We hunted a few times with no luck of seeing him. My dad begin looking at every photo of the deer and when he was showing up. We figured out the deer only visited the area when we had a west wind. This was the information we needed, Sunday afternoon we had a cool west wind. We made the decision to go in early and sit with hopes of Hoss showing his face. We made it to the property and unloaded the side by side and drove back halfway to the stand and parked. My Dad decided to not take a chance and hunt a stand that’s west of mine, so I walked in and safely climbed into the stand @3:15 PM. Once settled in I begin seeing deer, does and younger bucks. I caught a glimpse of horns to my right. I began watching him closely and determined it was Hoss, the deer I was after. He made his way into the area that the does were feeding. I found an opening in the timber. I slowly positioned my cross hairs on the mark and squeezed the trigger, the rest is history. The quest for Hoss is over!
