Hunt Story

On a beautiful fall Saturday afternoon, my husband escorted me into my own personal deer stand (where no one else is allowed to hunt) and sprayed a little voodoo deer scent in a tree next to me as he was leaving. After a while I hit my grunt call a couple of times and kept my binoculars up to be ready. I saw nothing until about 5:25 when this breathtaking buck walked out of the slough in front of me. He looked around slowly and began eating the corn on the ground. I lifted my rifle and aimed, preparing for the shot. I clicked off the safety and at this point he heard the click and looked right at me. However, he brushed it off and continued eating. I told myself that when he turned I would shoot. I didn't have to wait long. In less than a minute he looked over his left shoulder, giving me a free shot to his right. As my heart beat out of my chest, I pulled the trigger and to my satisfaction, he dropped to the ground. I was elated! This is my biggest buck yet! Wow what a memorable hunt!
