I had hunted this area since bow season and had close calls four other times with good bucks. The weather was cold this morning and the deer were moving good. I had seen 4 smaller bucks and several does. Two does and a small spike came from my left and this deer was trailing behnd. The does turned to come toward me and he followed right in to a perfect shooting lane. A bleat and perfectly placed shot with the .280 had him down less than 100 yards and my first buck tag punched for 2021.
