Hunt Story

At approximately 8:30 am the wind shifted to the east which was in the direction of a very thick clear cut. I sprayed a couple of blasts of Tinks 69 spray, and within 10 minutes of using the spray I heard him grunt about 100 yards away. It only took 10 to 15 seconds for him to get within about 10 yards of the stand. When I first saw him, I wasn't sure if he was old enough because his body looked small. He was sniffing the air and the ground back and forth and grunting for probably 20 or 30 seconds. I decided that the rack was big enough that I was going to shoot him and I waited until he moved a little ways away from the stand and I stopped him with a quick grunt. He stopped at about 35-40 yards, and I shot him in the neck. He dropped immediately and that was it. I waited about 15 minutes before getting down and walking over to him. He was a lot bigger than I thought. He has a 20.5-inch inside spread and his G2s are both 10 inches and live weight is 205 pounds.
