Hunt Story
We have had pictures of this buck for the last 2 seasons and hunted him relentlessly. Last season we had plenty of night time pictures but only 2 daytime pictures and neither of these days was there anybody in the stand at the time. Although this season we have only had nighttime pictures, my wife and I had decided to take turns sitting in this particular stand. I would hunt it in the mornings and she would hunt it in the afternoons. This morning I had a field full of deer. There were 5 does and 3 small bucks at the time that this giant made his appearance at 9:45 a.m. I couldn't believe my eyes but I never hesitated getting the gun. I didn't wait for him to stop. I shot him at about 75 yards with a 6.5 Creedmoor and he ran into the woods another 25 yards before dropping. Last season he was a 12-pointer and this year he had 11 points with a lot more mass. It was definitely the kill of a lifetime for me.
