Hunt Story
It was too hot to be hunting, at least that is what I had texted my wife 15 minutes before this deer showed up. I set up on a creek bed where three game trails converged just outside of a thick bedding area. I figured the deer would be headed for water as soon as they started moving, and I was finally right. The buck came down the trail just as I had envisioned, but just before passing into my shooting lane, he stopped and headed straight toward me. I couldn't move. Until finally, he walked directly behind my tree, and I was able to re-adjust and make the shot at about 20 feet.
