Hunt Story

At about 5:00 pm there were three doe and one button in the field. The doe were feeding at the edge of the field and kept going in and out of the woods. I saw the buck shortly thereafter and saw he was a nice one through my field glasses. He was coming into the field from the east. He started chasing one of the doe, and they ran west out of the field into the woods with the buck following. I felt like he would come back in my area, so I stuck my rifle out of the window opening and pointed it to the spot I had last seen him. After about five minutes he came back into the field walking at a fast gait, but he hesitated about 2-3 seconds, and as he stepped away I was able to take him. Waited about five minutes and left my stand and walked to the area and found a good blood trail. After waiting a few more moments for assistance, I was able to follow the trail about 100 yards into the woods where he had fallen. Proud to have taken such a nice buck.
