Hunt Story
Morning hunt from a stand we call the Gate Tripod. Not too far off the highway close to our property’s gate entrance. Had numerous bucks on camera moving through this area. Pre-rut activity was going on with a full moon. The cool temperatures and pre-rut activity had the bucks moving pretty good. I had seen 3 does and a young yearling spike just after first light, then this pretty nice 8pt showed up. He gave me a nice broadside shot at about 40 yards and ran about 15 yards before hitting the ground. It was a nice early season morning hunt.
