It was my daughter's first hunt this year. She loves hunting but has yet to kill a deer. Last year she let several bucks walk. We knew the deer were coming into the field almost every afternoon. I made her a rest using a cooler and a pillow because I knew she would have to make a long shot. We had only been there 5 minutes when two small bucks entered the field. A short time later the 8 point walked out. She decided she was going to shoot the 8. It took the buck about 10 minutes to finally turn broadside. That was a good think because it gave me time to calm her down. She made a 200 yard shot and it was perfect. We gave the deer about an hour and made the recovery. She is the youngest of three children. She has two older brothers who also love hunting and fishing. It has been such a blessing watching all three take there first deer. I videoed her shot and reaction and it is priceless.
