Hunt Story

We watched this deer all summer growing and putting the mass on, and then two weeks before the season he disappeared. After thinking that the deer was dead, he finally shows back up and had lost about 50 pounds and had large tumor on his back. So I started hunting every time I could get a chance to try and kill this deer before he disappeared again. The deer would rarely come to a trough and eat, so I decided to slip down into the hardwoods and set up on some white oaks, because I felt the deer didn’t want to be bothered by the other bucks at the trough. My first set in the woods I heard a deer coming and he was moving slowly and really cautiously. When I laid eyes on him I knew it was my buck. I called him moose so I waited patiently for him to make his way to me then made the shot and watched him go down. It was a good feeling to know I would finally put my hands on him.
