Hunt Story

My dad and I were hunting a box stand over a food plot on our hunting land. We had seen this buck on trail cameras and nicknamed him Lucky. The name came from him being missed the previous year by a malfunctioning muzzleloader. My previous biggest deer was a spike, but because of the numerous bucks on this property I was going to hold out for at least an 8-pointer. A spike came by early, and as it was nearing dark we thought that might be all we would see. Then, a little after seven, I spotted the buck moving down the food plot at a brisk pace. My dad let out a light yell 10 feet before he stepped into the brush. As he stopped, I squeezed off a shot at around a 100 yards. He only ran about 60 yards.
