Hunt Story
This old buck has been on my hit list for two years. He has been on and off the camera for two seasons, mostly at night. His heavy, wide-set beams, and short-tined, 11-point setup made him easy to identify. I saw him chasing a doe 3 days prior to the day of the kill, but could not get a favorable shot. On the morning of the kill, I heard him fighting with another buck in standing water in a flooded hardwood bottom close to my stand. He and two does walked away from the fight and gave me a shot opportunity as they were leaving the area. He had lost one tine on his right side within the last week, making him a 10-point.
