Hunt Story
The good Lord blessed me on Thanksgiving morning! I was hunting a stand I named years ago the Thanksgiving Day stand. I have taken several nice bucks out of it over the years. This spot sets up great for bucks cruising during the rut. I had a great encounter with this buck on Halloween morning out of this same stand, but being a bowhunter the shot angles did not line-up. I had trail-cam pictures that morning on scrapes and had a few more over the next few weeks, but no more encounters. Thanksgiving morning found me in my stand way before daylight and praying for many things that had nothing to do with a deer. At about 7:25 I saw movement and got ready. I saw that it was the buck I was after, and he was on a mission. I stopped the deer the first time, but had a couple twigs in the way. I stopped him again at 28 yards and double lunged him. He went only 50 yards and was down!
